Do you remember, sister,
The leaves so green and still
That covered o'er the path that led
To our house on the hill?

I grieve to tell you, sister,
That path, it is no more.
With stony hate and mortared spite
They've closed it with a door.

They placed their spells upon it,
And guarded it, because
They fear lest you or I step through
The Door to What Once Was.
